We conducted a 2 day camp outside of Rio for a local church.  The theme was “Renew Me Lord”:  Renew my Focus / Renew my Purpose / Renew my Strength / Renew my Passion.   We had 45 youth & 9 leaders involved in the camp.  There were three recorded salvation decisions and several other decisions for the Lord.  We were told of two brothers who attended the camp who were non-believers.  Their mother, who is a member of the church, pleaded with her sons to attend.  They did not want to come, but came because of their mother’s request.  In the first small group time they were distant and non-responsive checking things out.  But, after the first period of recreation they began to soften up and participate in their small group discussions.  By the end of camp they both made a decision to accept Jesus as their Savior.  One brother commented to one of his leaders, “This has helped me understand what my Mom has tried to share with me and what Jesus did for me finally makes sense.”  The Mother told the church leaders, “My sons are not the same boys I sent to camp.”  Yes, Jesus always brings change!
